The game also features a multiplayer mode, in which players can compete in different game types, such as Deathmatch and Infestation. Red Faction: Armageddon introduces several new gameplay mechanics, such as the ability to destroy cover, and the use of Magnet Gun, which allows the player to manipulate objects and enemies. When these colonies are threatened by a new enemy, the player must take up the role of Darius Mason, grandson of Alec Mason from Guerrilla, to save the people of Mars.
